Based in both the Pickering Nuclear Station in Pickering, ON and the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station near Bowmanville, ON, this program provides an intense training initiative designed to foster growth and broad experience. We are looking for Engineering and Applied Science graduates to augment our first-class nuclear workforce. The initial orientation is a seven-week, classroom-based training program that introduces the fundamentals. Once this training is complete, the new recruits benefit from rotations in various Engineering departments and job-specific training. Hydroelectric power accounts for almost one third of OPG's electricity production and we’ve been given the mandate to expand, develop and improve our hydroelectric generation capacity. We are looking for energetic and ambitious Mechanical, Civil, Geotechnical and Water Resource Engineering Grads to join our team. Our engineers play a key role in the business by applying specialized expertise in support of the development, operations and maintenance of OPG’s hydroelectric fleet and facilities.Our Grad Trainee Program provides you with the engineering and business experience to open doors to many different career streams. You will be hired into one of our plant groups located throughout the province, or into the central engineering function. This is your "home base". We designed the 18-24 month Trainee Program to provide a solid foundation of practical knowledge about the Hydro business, as you accumulate your required experience for licensing with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO). Your assignments will take you to plants and work centres that are located throughout the province of Ontario in picturesque settings. There will be travel and some short-term relocations to various parts of Ontario as you work your way through the program. The CIO organization is part of a team that oversees outsourced Information Technology on behalf of the organization. Ideal for IT, Math or Business graduates, you will gain exposure to IT oversight, IT outsourcing, Business Planning, Customer Relationship Management and Governance. You will be offered the opportunity to work in various parts of the CIO office on special initiatives and projects for up to two years. Rotations will include gaining experience both in a corporate and plant environment. Travel and relocation for certain assignments will be necessary. All initial assignments will be based at our head office in Toronto. After the trainee period, you will take on a longer-term assignment in the CIO’s organization, based on your interests and the current opportunities available.
