Overview of our Trainee Programs & Who’s Hiring

Our unique Graduate Trainee Programs allow young professionals like you to enter the workforce and apply your knowledge to real-life challenges facing the electricity industry. As part of the overall program, you will have the opportunity to work full-time in one of OPG’s business units. All programs are tailored to a specific business unit and grads will be offered rotational opportunities in various jobs within the unit during the first 12 to 18 months of their career. This experience is supported with meaningful mentorship relations and on the job training. The result: motivated professionals with a broad understanding of a business unit at OPG, and the ability to take on a challenging and rewarding role with confidence.

Security Clearance

OPG has a very detailed security clearance process based on regulations set for the energy industry. All of our employment offers are conditional upon successful security clearance. This paperwork is submitted only when a conditional offer is extended. In addition to completing all paperwork provided, you will also need to provide copies of:

A legible copy of your birth certificate if born in Canada
OR
A legible copy of a Citizenship Card, Permanent Resident Card or a Valid Work Permit

Please note: If you do not have five years of traceable history in Canada, you will need to provide a Criminal Record Name Check (CRNC) from your country of origin. This must be in English or translated through an official body.
