We’d love to answer any questions you have and appreciate your comments on this website and ways we can improve. Can I submit a general profile?Yes, you can. In fact, we highly recommend it if there is nothing currently available that suits your needs at OPG. To begin, go to Powerful Opportunities, and click "Submit Your Profile". Select "I am a new user", then enter your email address and a confidential password that will allow you to access your profile at any time. Be sure to enter your email address accurately; it will serve as both your username for future logins, and the address to which all system-generated correspondence will be sent (e.g. application acknowledgements, password resets, etc.) Next, you will answer a few simple questions, cut and paste or build your resume and complete a profile that outlines your job preferences. A message thanking you for your application will complete your profile. How do I apply?Online only. It's easy. Just go click Grad Opportunities to get started. You’ll find information on what we do, how we do it and where you might fit in. Can I make changes and/or apply for another position?Yes. You can update your application at any time as long as it is posted. Once it expires, you will not be able to access your application to make further changes. You may also apply to as many jobs for which you are duly qualified. If you want to apply for a different job, simply log in as a "Returning User" and re-apply. You may update your profile at anytime. This will ensure that we always have your most current information on file. How do I find out the status of my application?All applications are automatically acknowledged by an email receipt within 24-36 hours following submission. Regrettably, we are unable to respond to inquiries regarding the individual status of applications. Should your qualifications meet the stated requirements of the vacancy for which you have applied, a member of our recruiting team will contact you. Given the volume of applications we receive, we regret that only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted. Timing for interviews is also influenced by the volume of applications we receive in concert with the timeline requirements of the posting itself, which varies from job to job. When are 2007 Grad Interviews taking place?Interviews will be taking place in November of 2007. Our Nuclear interviews will take place on November 6th, 7th and 8th in Pickering. The interview process will last approximately four hours with various events taking place, including a personal interview. The other business units will generally first interview oncampus and invite you to an OPG site if you are advanced to a second level interview status. This site visit may include a more detailed interview along with a plant tour. When will offers be provided?Offers (conditional upon successful security clearance and medical check) will be provided in early December to top candidates. This process will continue until all positions are filled. If you interviewed with OPG and do not receive an offer at the beginning of December, you may receive an offer at a later date. Those who are interviewed will be given contact information of our Human Resources staff to direct specific inquiries they have on their status. How long do I have to decide if I’m provided an offer?Depending on when you receive an offer, we generally allow about two weeks to decide. I'm having trouble accessing a job posting on your site. Screen won't advance. What do I do now?We apologize for the difficulties you are experiencing accessing our site. A very small percentage of visitors to our site experience difficulties accessing our jobs database, and for most, these technical difficulties are specific to the user's PC settings or software used, and as such, are easily overcome. The most commonly reported problems involve the user's PC referencing old files (instead of current files) when accessing our careers site. This barrier is quickly resolved by clearing the PC's cache settings.
